So for awhile, I have wanted this book. I would go to the craft store and look through it over and over, but would never buy it. Got home and wished I had bought it. The next time, I went to the craft store I would see it again and look throught it over and over. Would have all these ideas I could do using this book. And again, wouldn't buy it.
So, one day I go over to a friends house for a Close to My Heart
workshop and what book is sitting right in front of me. YES, it's that same book. So, what do I do, I start looking through it. I have all these ideas running in my head. I tell her that I keep thinking about buying this book. She tells me I can have the book. I'm like WHAT???? She says it's mine, she has two copies. I'm so EXCITED, I can't stand it. I wanted to leave her house and head home and start making something, but I didn't. I acted all cool. Like it wasn't no big deal, but inside I was screaming and jumping up and down.
So, want to know what the book is. Well it is called "Collage Couture" by Julie Nutting. If you like doing collages this is the book for you.
Here is my First of many Girls.

The upper left corner.
I cut a chipboard frame in half and sponged it in CTMH Lagoon ink. Add some glitter to the butterfly.

The left side.
I added some more chipboard, flowers, another butterfly, and some bling.

The right side.
I added the chipboard frame and again, I sponged it in Laggoon ink. I then added some saying that I thought was fitting.

Bottom right side.
I added another chipboard piece with a butterfly, flower and bling.

And my first girl. I will get better with each one I make, but not to bad for my first one.

Here is the completed collage.

I gave my first girl to Melissa. Melissa is the friend that gave me the book and I will always treasure it. I hope she know how much it meant to me.
Can't wait to start on my next girl. And now that school is out for the summer I will time to make a few more.
